To all Gillian and Hannibal fans, now our dearest Bedelia is character’s regular for Hannibal’s Season 3! Check out the exclusive article from TV Line:

Gillian Anderson will be devouring a bigger piece of Hannibal when the NBC drama returns in 2015.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the X-Files vet — who recurred in Seasons 1 and 2 as the title cannibal’s shrink, Bedelia du Maurier — has closed a deal to be a series regular in Season 3.

The Season 2 finale set the stage for Bedelia to play a more significant role in the show’s third season — something exec producer Bryan Fuller confirmed over the summer at Comic-Con.
Gillian Anderson Hannibal Season 3.

The season opener will pick up one year after Hannibal and Bedelia were seen jetting off to Europe, and feel like “a pilot for a new series starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson,” Fulller previewed to huge applause.
Anderson’s most recent full-time TV gig, NBC’s Crisis, was cancelled last spring. She’s also on board for Season 2 of the acclaimed BBC drama The Fall.

“The cast and crew of Hannibal are positively giddy to be welcoming Gillian to Season 3 as a series regular,” Fuller told TVLine in an exclusive statement. “A striking presence on stage and screen, she brings wit, grace and intelligence to every role she embodies. Screenwriting is so much easier when you’re inspired by a great actor and Gillian has filled the Hannibal writers room with wonderful inspiration. I can’t wait for audiences to see her make a bigger meal out of the Cannibal than ever before.”

Hannibal is set to return at midseason.

Hello everybody. Unfortunatelly we have bad news about series “Crisis”. NBC has cancelled and now, officially we say good bye to CEO-mother Meg Fitch.

More inevitable cancellations at NBC, which formally pulled the plug of underperforming midseason dramas Believe and Crisis. The demise of Believe makes it two NBC cancellations of JJ Abrams believedramas today, as Revolution also was not picked up. Abrams’ Bad Robot also lost Almost Human, cancelled by Fox after one season, leaving the company with only one broadcast series next season, CBS’ Person of Interest. Crisis and Believe had the odds stacked against them with challenging slots on Sunday night. Still, Believe premiered after The Voice for extra sampling. In the end, neither the supernatural Believe, from Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron, nor hostage drama Crisis could draw enough viewers to earn a renewal.

Great news! According TVLine we’ll have more Bedelia’s scenes on these next-last episodes of Hannibal:

Last Friday’s installment kicked off an extended arc in which addled profiler Will Graham returns to some very high-stakes therapy with the infamous Dr. Lecter. “The question is whether Will will be able to hold on to his humanity or if Will’s humanity will slip through his fingers,” previews showrunner Bryan Fuller, adding that the emergence of the antler-sporting “Willdigo” is symbolic proof that Hannibal continues to wield dark influence over the mind of his “friend.” Also on tap during May Sweeps? “The Mason Verger story comes to fruition,” Fuller teases. “We will learn how that character came to look the way he did in the Ridley Scott movie [Hannibal].” Plus, Gillian Anderson’s Bedelia Du Maurier sneaks back onto the scene (though hopefully not via dinner plate).

The X-Files: For nine heart-pounding seasons, Chris Carter’s groundbreaking sci-fi saga kept both believers and skeptics glued to their televisions, thanks to the unmistakable chemistry between stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. “Gillian and I got [to the audition] about the same time, and we ended up running lines in the hallway,” recalls Duchovny. “We had developed a comfort level with each other when we did the audition. Over time, we grew into ourselves as actors, and refined what those characters meant to each other.”

Available on DVD and Blu-ray from PBS Distribution April 3rd
Release Timed with Premiere Airing on PBS on April 1st and 8th

Arlington, Va.; February 7, 2012 – PBS Distribution today announced it is releasing “MASTERPIECE CLASSIC: GREAT EXPECTATIONS” on DVD and Blu-ray. Nothing is quite as it seems in this lush retelling of Dickens’ classic coming-of-age story featuring colorful characters – conspirators, rogues, rakes, and wretches. This remarkable tale of rags to riches to self-knowledge stars Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files,” “Bleak House”), David Suchet, Ray Winstone, and Douglas Booth. “MASTERPIECE CLASSIC: GREAT EXPECTATIONS” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray beginning April 3, 2012. The running time of the program is 180 minutes. The SRP for the DVD is $24.99 and the SRP for the Blu-ray is $29.99.

“MASTERPIECE CLASSIC: GREAT EXPECTATIONS” opens with Pip as a boy (played by Oscar Kennedy) on the marshes near his home, where he encounters the desperate escapee Magwitch. Pip is coerced into stealing a metal file to break Magwitch’s chains, but the boy willingly snares a piece of meat pie to feed the famished man.

So begins a classic coming-of-age story about innate kindness and learned indifference. Young Pip expects no more from life than to join his brother-in-law Joe at the blacksmith’s forge. But fate intervenes when the neighboring rich eccentric Miss Havisham seeks Pip out as a playmate for her adopted daughter, Estella.

This sets Pip on a course that sees him tested in many ways, not least in being thrown into a wish-fulfillment paradise for a young man, where he has the pleasures of London at his disposal and true love – and great expectations – in his future. Or so he thinks.

Gillian Anderson appears as one of Dickens’ most haunting creations: Miss Havisham, a bride-to-be who was left at the altar years before and has worn her fading wedding dress ever since, in a decrepit home where time has stood still, surrounded by the fossilized remains of the marriage feast and hell-bent on getting even with the male sex. Newcomer Douglas Booth stars as Pip, the promising young man who is snared in Miss Havisham’s lair. On the way to becoming a gentleman, he falls in love with Miss Havisham’s beautiful adopted daughter, Estella, played by Vanessa Kirby (“The Hour”).

“MASTERPIECE CLASSIC: GREAT EXPECTATIONS” co-stars David Suchet (“Poirot”) as Jaggers, Miss Havisham’s crack attorney; and Ray Winstone (“Sexy Beast”) as the fugitive felon Abel Magwitch, who is by turns dangerous, vengeful, and recklessly loyal.

Filling out the spectacular cast are Shaun Dooley (“South Riding”) as the kindly blacksmith Joe Gargery, Pip’s brother-in-law and childhood hero; Mark Addy (“The Full Monty”) as the village blowhard, Uncle Pumblechook; Paul Ritter (“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”) as Wemmick, Jaggers’ super efficient clerk who has a secret life; Paul Rhys (“Vincent & Theo”) as Compeyson, whose dastardly swindles link several lines of the intricate plot; and Harry Lloyd (“Game of Thrones”) as Pip’s guileless buddy Herbert Pocket (in real life Lloyd is the great-great-great grandson of Dickens himself). Not to mention many other colorful Dickensian characters.

“MASTERPIECE CLASSIC: GREAT EXPECTATIONS” was directed by Brian Kirk (“Game of Thrones,” “Luther”) and written by Sarah Phelps (“Oliver Twist”), based on the novel by Charles Dickens. The producer is George Ormond. The executive producers are Anne Pivcevic for the BBC and Rebecca Eaton for MASTERPIECE on PBS.

MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by WGBH Boston. Rebecca Eaton is Executive Producer. Funding for the series is provided by Viking River Cruises, with additional support from public television viewers and contributors to The MASTERPIECE Trust, created to help ensure the series’ future.
