To all Gillian and Hannibal fans, now our dearest Bedelia is character’s regular for Hannibal’s Season 3! Check out the exclusive article from TV Line:

Gillian Anderson will be devouring a bigger piece of Hannibal when the NBC drama returns in 2015.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the X-Files vet — who recurred in Seasons 1 and 2 as the title cannibal’s shrink, Bedelia du Maurier — has closed a deal to be a series regular in Season 3.

The Season 2 finale set the stage for Bedelia to play a more significant role in the show’s third season — something exec producer Bryan Fuller confirmed over the summer at Comic-Con.
Gillian Anderson Hannibal Season 3.

The season opener will pick up one year after Hannibal and Bedelia were seen jetting off to Europe, and feel like “a pilot for a new series starring Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson,” Fulller previewed to huge applause.
Anderson’s most recent full-time TV gig, NBC’s Crisis, was cancelled last spring. She’s also on board for Season 2 of the acclaimed BBC drama The Fall.

“The cast and crew of Hannibal are positively giddy to be welcoming Gillian to Season 3 as a series regular,” Fuller told TVLine in an exclusive statement. “A striking presence on stage and screen, she brings wit, grace and intelligence to every role she embodies. Screenwriting is so much easier when you’re inspired by a great actor and Gillian has filled the Hannibal writers room with wonderful inspiration. I can’t wait for audiences to see her make a bigger meal out of the Cannibal than ever before.”

Hannibal is set to return at midseason.

The X-Files: For nine heart-pounding seasons, Chris Carter’s groundbreaking sci-fi saga kept both believers and skeptics glued to their televisions, thanks to the unmistakable chemistry between stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. “Gillian and I got [to the audition] about the same time, and we ended up running lines in the hallway,” recalls Duchovny. “We had developed a comfort level with each other when we did the audition. Over time, we grew into ourselves as actors, and refined what those characters meant to each other.”

The creator of the spy series Hunted, which stars Australian actress Melissa George, has confirmed a second series will be produced.

“It’s sort of a spin-off,” writer and producer Frank Spotnitz told BBC Radio. “There’s going to be another series with Sam Hunter, but it’s going to be a different format to what we saw this year.”

Spotnitz also revealed that George, who won wide acclaim for her performance in the ABC drama The Slap, was not the first choice for the role of agent Sam Hunter.

The character was originally written with the former star of The X Files, actress Gillian Anderson, in mind.

The first series of Hunted was a co-production between the BBC and the HBO-owned US cable channel Cinemax.

The BBC confirmed last week it would not continue its involvement with the series, after less-than-stellar ratings in the UK.

In a media statement, Cinemax’s parent company HBO flagged it would look for ways to move the series forward without the BBC’s involvement.

Speaking to BBC Radio, Spotnitz said the second season had the green light, but the details were yet to be confirmed.

“I don’t know exactly how it’s all landing yet – this is one of the hazards of doing this international co-production thing, [but] I know we’re going forward,” he said.

GILLIAN Anderson found fame as a sceptical alien hunter on the X-Files but her discovery of period drama, and small indie film roles have brought her real contentment.

When Gillian Anderson arrives for our interview she has to take a moment before we begin. She’s moving house tomorrow and looks distinctly discombobulated. “I just need to put my mind in the zone,” she says with a polite smile. “Too many things going on.” She rests her face in her hands for a few seconds while she composes herself, takes a breath and switches on. Moving house is a stressful business, though the 44-year-old actress has plenty of experience of it.

She purchased her first home, in Vancouver, in her early twenties and has bought, renovated and sold a dozen since then: “I generally find houses that need to be done up, that have personalities that feel like they make sense for that particular time in my life.”
